Leben in Grabow

Der Name Grabow
Um 600 n Chr. siedelten die ersten slawischen Stämme in der Gegend des heutigen Grabows an. Wahrscheinlich in der Nähe der Ihle. Der Name kommt aus dem Slawischen und bedeutet so in etwa Weißbuche.

Die Slawen betrieben Viehzucht, Bienenzucht ernähten sich auch von der Jagd und Fischerei, der Ackerbau war infolge von Gerätemangel (z. B. eiserner Pflug) bei den Slawen noch nicht soweit entwickelt.
